About Us
The main office for Panama City Urological Center was established in 1979 by Dr. Byron McCormick. For the first decade of service, Dr. McCormick primarily practiced as a solo practitioner building a reputation of excellent urological care. In addition, Dr. McCormick established a reputation of strong community support and participation as exampled by his founding of a free sports physical program for area students – a program which continues to this day.
In 1990, Dr. Neal Dunn joined with Dr. McCormick and began to expand the scope and reach of urologic care within the community. As the practice grew, so did our commitment to advances in urological technology and to community involvement, including campaign leadership for the March of Dimes and The American Cancer Society.
As the population of Bay County and the surrounding areas grew, so did the need for state-of-the-art urological care. Over the next few years, five additional urologists and three physician assistants joined the practice to meet the increasing need for urological care.
The main office underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2003 bringing the total square footage to 14,000 of exam, treatment and office space. In addition, on-site CT was established at the main office in 2003.
In 2005, a second location was opened in Panama City Beach to serve the needs of those residents of our beach communities. 2007 saw the addition of a third office and another urologist, Dr. Warren Hitt, a long-term and well-established solo practitioner, to Panama City Urological Center.
Today, Panama City Urological Center combines seven urologists, three certified physician assistants, and a professional staff with on-site state-of-the-art technology such as computed tomography (CT), X-ray, and urodynamics to provide the most comprehensive urological care available in the region.
